Work Van Overturns, Crashes Into Pole, Trapping Driver

SYOSSET, NY - A van overturned and crashed into a utility pole, heavily trapping the driver inside late Thursday afternoon near the intersection of South Oyster Bay Road and Hicks Street.

Just before 2:00PM, Nassau County Police and the Syosset Fire Department were notified of a serious crash involving a Ram work van that overturned onto its side and crashed into a utility pole. The crash occurred near the intersection of Hicks Street and South Oyster Bay Road in Syosset, New York.

The Nassau County Police Emergency Service Unit also responded to assist the fire departments with extricating the victim. The victim was removed from the van at around 2:10PM.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital in an unknown condition.
