Firefighters Battle Massive Multi-Alarm Blaze In Long Island Medical Office

FLOWER HILL, NY - A large fire broke out inside a Long Island medical office on Saturday night prompting 37 fire departments to respond and battle the blaze.

Just before 6:00PM on Saturday evening, firefighters responded to 1025 Northern Boulevard for a reported fire. Fire crews were met with fire and heavy smoke pouring out of the medical office when they arrived on scene.

Within 30 minutes, the fire grew to a 3-alarm blaze inside the three-story brick building. The building had several medical and dental offices inside, including North Shore Restorative & Implant Dentistry, Gold Coast Prosthodontics of Long Island, and Flower Hill Dental Group.

The Roslyn Fire Department, assisted by 36 other fire departments, continued fighting the fire into the early hours of Sunday morning as pockets of fire persisted throughout the building.

The Nassau County Police Arson and Bomb Squad detectives, along with the 6th Precinct Squad detectives were also on scene with the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office and Nassau County Office of Emergency Management.

Three first responders suffered minor injuries and were taken to local area hospitals where they were treated and released.

At this time, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
