Woman Struck by Bus In North Oakland

Pittsburgh emergency services responded to the intersection of 5th Avenue and N Dithridge Street in the North Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh for a pedestrian struck by a bus early Wednesday morning.

Pittsburgh Police, Fire Department, and EMS responded to 5th Avenue and N Dithridge Street at 9:37am Wednesday morning for a report of an elderly woman struck by a bus. The bus, operated by P.R.N. Transit Service Inc. collided with the pedestrian, causing a serious injury in the woman’s leg.

The woman was transported in a serious, but stable condition by Pittsburgh Paramedics to a local area hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Among the Pittsburgh Paramedics, units on the scene included Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, Port Authority Police, University of Pittsburgh Police, and Carnegie Mellon University Police.

Circumstances leading up to the collision are currently unknown, but no criminality is suspected.
