Pedestrian Struck in Shopping Center

A pedestrian was hospitalized for a head injury after being struck by a car and knocked down to the ground in a Long Island, New York shopping center early Thursday afternoon.

Police and EMS responded to the Huntington Shopping Center at 350 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, New York at 1:39pm for a 911 call of a person struck by a vehicle in the parking lot in front of buybuy Baby. When emergency crews arrived on the scene, the victim was alert and conscious according to police.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad treated the pedestrian and transported them in a stable condition to a local area hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

There is no criminality suspected in this incident.
