Van Flies Off Highway After 4 Car Crash on I-495

A four car collision caused delays on the Long Island Expressway going eastbound early Wednesday evening in Jericho, New York.

Just after 5pm, Nassau County Police Highway Patrol and Old Westbury Police were alerted to a four car collision on I-495 near Exit 40. Police arrived on scene and found three vehicles on the highway blocking lanes of traffic and a van that flew off the highway, landing into nearby vegetation.

Emergency crews only treated one person for unknown injuries as a result of the collision.

Nassau County Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of the crash.
