SUV Hits Tree, Overturns, Trapping 3 On Northern State Parkway

SYOSSET, NY - A late-night crash pinned three people inside an SUV after striking a tree and rolling over onto its side on the Northern State Parkway Friday night.

At around 11:20PM, the Syosset and Plainview Fire Departments were alerted to an overturned Honda SUV with multiple people trapped in the westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway between South Oyster Bay Road and the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.

According to witnesses, the SUV left the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled over onto its side.

One of the three victims was able to self-extricate from the rolled-over vehicle. First responders were able to successfully extricate the remaining two victims inside the SUV.

All three victims were transported to local area hospitals for further medical treatment and evaluation with reported minor injuries.

The cause of the SUV leaving the roadway is currently unknown at this time.
