Student Stabbed Multiple Times At Uniondale High School

UNIONDALE, NY - A 17-year-old Uniondale High School student was hospitalized with serious injuries after being stabbed in the neck, back, and stomach by a student from another school during a fight after school was dismissed.

Nassau County Police responded to Uniondale High School, located at 933 Goodrich St, Uniondale, NY 11553, at around 2:45PM for a student that was stabbed multiple times.

Police say that the victim, a 17-year-old male, was standing outside the school where the buses pick students up when the attacker, a 15-year-old male student from another school, approached the victim and got into an altercation.

While the two students were fighting, the victim was stabbed in the stomach, neck, and back by the attacker.

School security immediately responded to the aid of the victim while the alleged stabbing suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim was rushed to a local area hospital with a police escort.

Police officers from the Nassau County Police 1st Precinct and various divisions of the department apprehended the alleged suspect while he was attempting to return home in Hempstead. Officers were involved in a brief foot pursuit of the suspect before being able to take him into custody.

Police Commissioner Ryder said that it appears that there was some kind of relationship between the two teens.

The victim was listed in stable condition after being taken out of intensive care on Monday evening.
