Standoff Leads To Manhunt In Mastic Neighborhood

MASTIC, NY - Police with tactical gear set up outside of a Titmus Drive home late Saturday afternoon after a standoff between officers and a barricaded person.

Police officers responded to Titmus Drive between Ardmour Drive and Boonar Street after a report of a barricaded person inside of a residence on the street. The suspect, who refused to come out for police, barricaded themselves inside the house, which prompted a heavy tactical response.

Emergency Service Unit officers with long rifles and tactical gear arrived on the scene during the standoff. Police also utilized a helicopter and K-9 unit to track the suspect after he fled from the house on foot.

There has been no word from the Suffolk County Police Department if the suspect was taken into custody.
