Man Leads Police On Pursuit Through Commack

COMMACK, NY - Suffolk County Police pursued a man in a vehicle that failed to yield for officers and led them on a long chase throughout Commack streets early Wednesday morning.

Suffolk County Police were involved with a pursuit of a vehicle that failed to stop for officers at around 12:35AM on Wednesday. Officers from the 4th Precinct spotted the vehicle and the driver took off, leading police on a nearly hour long pursuit.

Suffolk County Police terminated the pursuit as the suspect continued across Veterans Memorial Highway on Harned Road. Officers followed from a safe distance until the vehicle stopped just south of Cutchogue Lane.

The driver was taken into custody and transported to a local area hospital.

Suffolk County Police have not released any further details on this incident at the time of publication. It is unclear what the suspect was wanted for.
