Suspect Critical After Charging At Police With Knife In Amity Harbor

AMITY HARBOR, NY - A massive police presence responded after Nassau County Police officers shot a suspect charging at them with a knife on Buchanan Avenue in Amity Harbor late Saturday afternoon.

Just before 4:30PM, a large response of police officers swarmed to Buchanan Avenue, just south of Montauk Highway, after a suspect threatened police officers with a knife.

Police officers fired their guns and struck the suspect an unknown number of times. The suspect was transported to a local area hospital in a critical condition.

No police officers were injured as a result.

The investigation is currently ongoing as both Nassau County Police and Suffolk County Police were present at the crime scene.
