Search for Missing 10 Year Old Girl Shuts Down Southern State Parkway
The Southern State Parkway was completely shut down Tuesday night after a 10-year-old girl went missing from a Roosevelt, NY gas station.
UPDATE: The missing girl has been found safe in Queens, New York.
The Nassau County Police and New York State Police engaged in a large search for a 10-year-old girl who went missing from a gas station on Nassau Road in Roosevelt, New York late Tuesday night. The missing child was last seen near the Southern State Parkway by a passerby who called 911.
The search prompted a temporary full shutdown of the Southern State Parkway in both directions while police and good samaritans searched for the missing girl.
The Nassau County Police are asking the public for assistance in locating and identifying this missing child. The NCPD Missing Persons Squad put out a notification to neighborhoods using the Ring Neighbors app.
The missing child was last seen near the BP gas station on the corner of Nassau Road and W Greenwich Avenue. A description according to a surveillance photo describes the girl as African American, wearing a blue and white striped shirt, red pajama pants with animals printed on them, and her black hair in braids.
