Man Arrested After Series of Burglaries Hit Hicksville, Westbury Homes

Nassau County Police arrested a man suspected of acting in a series of residential burglaries on Long Island late Saturday afternoon.

Police took a 27-year-old man into custody for five residential burglaries that took place throughout the Hicksville and Westbury communities over a period of a few weeks. The suspect, Carlos Morinville, was arrested by police officers after allegedly hiding underneath a truck in a loading dock at 300 Duffy Avenue in Hicksville, New York, shortly following him fleeing from the scene of another burglary.

Witnesses to the crime stated that Morinville broke into their neighbor’s Meade Avenue house just prior to being caught on Saturday afternoon.



Morinville allegedly surrendered to police after the Nassau County Police Department deployed their K9 Unit to search the area.

Morinville is suspected to be involved in the burglary of two Hicksville homes on Barry Drive (March 24th) and Princess Street (April 7th), and Westbury homes on Circle Drive and Mirabelle Avenue on March 16th and April 8th.

The suspect has been charged with three counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and fourth-degree grand larceny, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Morinville is scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday in Mineola, New York for the charges against him.
