Residents Rescued From Blazing Massapequa Park House Fire
A 58-year old man was pulled from an intense house fire by firefighters on East Lake Avenue in Massapequa Park, New York early Tuesday evening.
A massive response of firefighters, emergency medical services, and police rushed to East Lake Avenue in Massapequa Park after reports of a house fire with occupants still trapped inside at 4:35PM on Tuesday. Firefighters and police officers worked to free two residents of the Massapequa Park residence as the flames continued to engulf a majority of the home.
A 58-year old man was pulled from the basement of the home after being rescued by firefighters at the scene. The man is currently in a critical condition after being transported to the hospital.
Two other occupants of the home were able to make it out on their own as the intense flames slowly began to engulf the house. Both occupants who made it out were transported to a local area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
A firefighter was treated at the scene for exhaustion as a result of battling the blaze.
Officials are actively investigating the cause of this fire.
