News Photographers Discover Wild Crash Seconds After It Happened
Priority News Network photographers came across a crash that left heavy damage to a utility pole, lamp post, mailbox, and bench on N Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst, New York early Christmas Eve morning.
As news photographers Frank Lewis and Michael Serrell with Priority News Network were traveling southbound on N Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst at around 5:25 AM, they came across a single-car crash that sheared a utility pole in half and caused damage to various roadside decorations including a holiday-decorated lamp post and a bench.
A dashcam video from the vehicle can show the second the photographers sprung into action and assisted at the scene, where 911 was just called seconds prior to the photographers pulling up.
The crash knocked multiple wires down and caused debris to crash through a window of a nearby tanning salon. The SUV ended up on top of a destroyed bench and other debris that suspended the vehicle off the ground slightly. Priority News Network photographers carefully navigated the debris and stayed cautious of downed wires to check on the driver of the vehicle.
The driver was miraculously uninjured after the heavy damage caused to their vehicle and the various objects that were struck. There is no word on the cause of the crash.
N Wellwood Avenue was temporarily shut down in both directions, but has since reopened without any delays relating to this crash.
