Burglar Nabbed By Proactive Police Officer In Point Lookout

A 20-year old man was arrested after being spotted in front of a broken window by a patrolling police officer in Point Lookout, New York early Tuesday morning.

Officials say a Nassau County Police Officer who was patrolling the Point Lookout, New York area during the overnight hours of Tuesday morning, found Christopher Stringer, 20, in front of a supermarket where the window was smashed out and an alarm was actively ringing. Police say the would-be burglar broke into 12 Lido Blvd, Point Lookout, which is where The Point Supermarket & Gas is located.

Stringer, a resident of Point Lookout, was taken into custody by police after an investigation led to his arrest.

Stringer was arraigned on Tuesday in Hempstead for charges that include Petit Larceny, Criminal Mischief, and Burglar
