Raging Car Fire Spares Home In North Lindenhurst, 1 Rescued

NORTH LINDENHURST, N.Y. – First responders rescued a resident after a fierce car fire ignited in the driveway of a home early Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to the home on Tremont Road near Washington Drive around 2:25 AM after flames erupted from a car parked in the driveway.

The fire, which sparked in the parked minivan, quickly engulfed the vehicle in flames. Fire crews acted swiftly and managed to contain the fire to the vehicle, preventing any extension to the nearby residence.

Firefighters helped one occupant evacuate the home as the fire burned in the driveway. The individual was treated at the scene by emergency medical services.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by officials.
