Queens Man Arrested For Christmas Morning Burglary In Cedarhurst

CEDARHURST, NY - A Queens man was arrested and charged for a brazen burglary of an occupied house on Oakwood Avenue in Cedarhurst, New York early Christmas morning.

Police say the suspect, identified as Marquis Silvers, 20, of Far Rockaway, entered a residence on Oakwood Avenue illegally at around 5:40AM on December 25, 2021.

Silvers threatened a 20-year old male victim who confronted him. The victim quickly called the police and the suspect fled from the scene. No injuries were reported.

An investigation by police led to the suspect being identified. Silvers surrendered himself on February 8, 2022 at 12:30PM at the Nassau County Police Fourth Precinct in Hewlett, New York.

Silvers is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Menacing 3rd Degree. He was arraigned Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at First District Court in Hempstead, New York.
