Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Farmingdale

FARMINGDALE, NY - A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup truck traveling on Hempstead Turnpike near West Gate late Sunday night.

At around 8:15PM, the Farmingdale Fire Department came across a pedestrian that was struck by a pickup truck traveling on Hempstead Turnpike in front of the Farmingdale Diner, located at 17 Hempstead Tpke, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

The pedestrian was critically injured and first responders performed CPR on the victim. He was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bethpage, where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash. No criminality is suspected in this incident at this time.
