Pedestrian Struck by MTA Van on Long Island

The Nassau County Police and Metropolitan Transit Authority Police are investigating a serious pedestrian versus vehicle accident on W Old Country Road in Hicksville, New York.

At around 9:15pm, the Hicksville Fire Department arrived on the scene of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was allegedly crossing the street from the south lanes to the north lanes before he was struck by a Metropolitan Transit Authority work van.

The pedestrian was transported from the scene in an allegedly unresponsive condition with unknown injuries.

There is no criminality suspected in this collision at this time.
