Overnight Fire, Wall Collapse Destroys Long Island Business

An overnight fire in Wyandanch, New York has destroyed a Long Island business as firefighters worked in icy conditions early Saturday morning.

Emergency services responded to Alder Street in Wyandanch for a reported fire in a commercial building early Saturday morning. At around 3:45am, crews responded to the scene to find a commercial building involved with flames. Firefighters began working to prevent the spread of the fire from other nearby businesses or vehicles that were parked out front.

During the firefighting operations, the front wall of the commercial building collapsed, changing the approach of the crews on scene. Firefighters worked in icy conditions due to the overnight low temperatures that have been battering the Long Island area over the past few nights.

The fire was contained to the commercial building, which appears to be a car detailing service shop.

There were no injuries reported from this fire.
