New Cassel Man Arrested After Robbing 15-Year Old

NEW CASSEL, NY - A New Cassel man was arrested by police after robbing a teenager on Hopper Street late Monday night.

Nassau County Police responded to a 911 call at 10:09PM on Monday night from a 15-year old saying that he was approached by a man and robbed. Police say the man took the teenager’s cash and fled from the scene.

Police officers searched the area and were able to find Stephan Maddox, 30, of New Cassel in the area. Maddox was arrested without any incident.

While searching Maddox, officers found a clear glass pipe containing residue that is believed to be crack cocaine.

Maddox is charged with 3rd Degree Robbery, 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say that Maddox was in violation of a parole warrant for criminal mischief.

Maddox was arraigned on Tuesday at the First District Court in Hempstead, New York.
