Man Shot in Critical Condition After Dispute Leads to Shooting in North Lindenhurst

Suffolk County Police say that a man was critically injured in a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in North Lindenhurst, New York.

Suffolk County Police responded to 6th Street at about 1AM Wednesday morning for a report of a shooting. First Precinct police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department arrived on the scene and found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

The victim, Michael Bellone, 41, of Bay Shore, was involved in a dispute with another man leading up to him being shot. The victim and the shooter “are known to each other” according to Police.

Bellone was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition as a result of the shooting.

Suffolk County Police are still searching for the shooter. No details have been released about the shooter’s identity or vehicle at this time.
