Man Killed After Getting Pinned Between Trucks In Central Islip
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A 45-year old man was pronounced dead after being pinned between two trucks while assisting with backing one of them up early Tuesday morning.
Suffolk County Police say Rolando Padillacanales, 45, of Ronkonkoma, was assisting a driver backing up a 2007 box truck at 301 South Research Place at around 9:40AM. The box truck reversed and pinned Padillacanales against a parked 2006 Freightliner box truck in the parking lot. The driver of the 2007 box truck pulled forward and the victim fell to the ground.
The victim was transported to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. The driver of the box truck was uninjured.
Motor Carrier Safety Section officers with the Suffolk County Police Department performed a safety check on the truck at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time, according to officials.
