Huntington Station Man Arrested For DWI After Crashing With Son In Car

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY - Police arrested a Huntington Station man for DWI after he crashed into a parked car while his son was riding with him on East 10th Street late Sunday night.

Police say Denis Manzaneras-Orellana, 34, of Huntington Station, was driving a 2000 Honda sedan on East 10th Street, between Varney Avenue and Mulford Avenue when he crashed into an unoccupied parked car at around 9:20PM. Manzaneras-Orellana’s 12-year old son was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Second Precinct responded to the scene and determined that Manzaneras-Orellana was intoxicated.

Manzaneras-Orellana was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The 12-year-old was released to a family member. There were no injuries reported from this crash.

Manzaneras-Orellana was held overnight at the Second Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, New York on Monday.
