Hit and Run Driver Injuries 1, Hits 3 Cars

A driver was taken into Nassau County Police custody early Sunday morning, shortly after fleeing from multiple hit and run crashes on Old Country Road near Broadway in Hicksville, New York.
The driver of a luxury SUV collided with 3 vehicles before crashing his car onto a nearby sidewalk, feet away from a commercial building. At around 8:15am Sunday, police responded to multiple calls of hit and runs near Broadway in Hicksville.
After arriving on the scene, police found a black luxury SUV unoccupied. Witnesses said that the vehicle appeared to lose control and hit the sidewalk, which is when the driver exited the vehicle and fled from the scene. Nassau County Police detained the man and administered breathalyzer and other sobriety tests in front of the Town of Oyster Bay Hicksville Athletic Center on Broadway.
After collecting information, police found that the SUV driver originally crashed into a car near Jerusalem Avenue. The driver continued and collided with a pickup truck and a second car before crashing his vehicle and fleeing on foot.
One person was hospitalized as a result of the crash. The condition of the injured is currently unknown.
