Driver Killed In Fatal Overnight Southern State Parkway Crash

Around 2am, the New York State Police and multiple other emergency crews responded to the Southern State Parkway near Exit 19 for a fatal collision where a Honda sedan left the road and crashed into the woods nearby.

A single vehicle was found wrapped around a tree when crews arrived on the scene. The driver Taeri Kim, 31, of East Meadow, NY, was trapped in the vehicle due to the damage from the collision. The victim was found unconscious and was cut from the vehicle and transported to Nassau University Medical Center in a serious condition, where she succumbed to the injuries from the crash.

New York State Police is currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the serious collision.
