A single car overturned, injuring one person late Thursday night in Amityville, New York. The car collided with a wooden post in a center median, causing it to flip and block traffic.

The Amityville Police Department and Amityville Fire Department responded to Albany Avenue and Mill Street, off Broadway, just after 9pm for a reported traffic collision with a vehicle overturned on its roof. After arriving on the scene, crews found the vehicle completely blocking Albany Avenue just before Mill Street.

A person in the vehicle sustained minor injuries from the collision, but was not trapped inside. The occupant of the car was transported to a local area hospital in an unknown condition.

Albany Avenue remained blocked at Broadway while emergency crews worked to clear the scene, but has since reopened without any delays.

Amityville Police are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
