Car Overturns, Crashes Through Lot in Hicksville Crash

A white sedan left the roadway and overturned on its roof before coming to a stop inside an empty lot in Hicksville, New York during rush hour on Wednesday. The driver of the car had to be cut out of the vehicle by crews on scene.

Heavy rescue crews responded to 332 W Old Country Road in Hicksville, New York just after 5:45PM on Wednesday evening for a report of a car that overturned on its roof with a person trapped inside.

When police and firefighters arrived on the scene of the crash, a clear path of damage could be seen from where the vehicle exited the roadway, took down a pole, and broke through a fence into an empty lot.

The driver had to be freed from the car by emergency crews at the scene before they were transported to a local area hospital. The driver is in a stable condition and sustained only minor injuries from the crash.

There is no word on the cause of the single-car crash at this time.
