Car Crashes Into Hicksville Home, Driver Seriously Injured

HICKSVILLE, NY - A 54-year-old East Meadow man was seriously injured after he lost control while making a left turn, crashing into a Hicksville home late Tuesday night.

First responders received the call for a car that left the roadway and slammed into the front door of a Hicksville music school and residence, located at 382 Newbridge Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801, just after 11:00PM on Tuesday night. The driver of the vehicle was pinned inside the SUV as a result of the damage to both the car and the structure.

The driver of the car, a 54-year-old East Meadow man, was extricated by the Hicksville Fire Department and Nassau County Police Department Emergency Service Unit.

Officials say that the 2010 Nissan Rogue was traveling on Newbridge Road when the driver tried making a left turn and went off the road, striking the home on the corner of Elmira Street and Newbridge Road.

The man was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in a critical condition.

Police say that there was only one person inside the home at the time of the crash and they were not injured.
