Bystander’s Vehicle Struck By Gunfire During Shooting

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY - Police are searching for multiple suspects involved in a shooting that resulted in a bystander’s car being struck by gunfire early Friday evening.

Police responded to Albany Avenue and Great Neck Road in North Amityville, New York at around 4:30PM for a report of a shooting that occurred near the Valero gas station, located at 3359 Great Neck Rd, Amityville, NY 11701.

Suffolk County Police arrived on scene and reported that both the shooter and the reported victim fled the scene, but multiple shell casings were recovered. At least nine shell casings could be visibly seen in the parking lot of the gas station while Crime Scene units processed the scene.

A passerby’s vehicle was struck by gunfire as a result of the shooting.

Police have not released any additional information in regard to the shooting at the time of publication for this article.
