Pursuit Through Niagara County Ends in Crash, Charges for Buffalo Man

LEWISTON, N.Y. — A 51-year-old Buffalo man is facing numerous charges following a motorcycle pursuit that crossed several jurisdictions Monday evening.

According to sources, the incident began when a Niagara Falls police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling on College Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls. The operator, who has not yet been publicly identified, failed to comply with the stop and accelerated away, initiating a pursuit.

The motorcyclist continued north on Military Road, leading police through the Town of Niagara and into the Town of Lewiston.

The pursuit came to an end when the suspect failed to navigate a curve on Military Road near the Niagara Falls Country Club golf course, resulting in a crash at around 9:00PM.

Emergency crews from the Upper Mountain Fire Company responded to the scene and transported the male to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the wipeout.

The man is expected to face multiple charges, including fleeing from police, operating without a valid license, and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations.

The pursuit involved officers from several jurisdictions, including Niagara Falls Police, Town of Niagara Police, Lewiston Police, and the New York State Police.

The investigation is ongoing.
