Babylon Teacher Arrested For Rape of 15-Year Old Student

BABYLON, NY - A Babylon School district teacher was arrested by police on Thursday morning during a traffic stop for rape as a result of a 2013 sexual relationship with a student.

Suffolk County Police pulled over Timothy Harrison, 46, of Oak Beach at around 7:40AM on the Robert Moses Causeway near Route 27A in West Islip, New York.

Administrators from the Babylon Union Free School District contacted Suffolk County Police in October 2021 regarding allegations of misconduct involving their staff.

During an investigation by Special Victims Detectives, a woman came forward in November 2021, reporting that Harrison was involved in a sexual relationship with her while she was a student during the fall of 2013. The victim was 15-years old at the time and Harrison was 38-years old.

Harrison was arrested during the traffic stop on Thursday morning and was charged with two counts of Rape 3rd Degree and one count for Criminal Sexual Act 3rd Degree.

Harrison will be arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
