57-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed By Two Cars In Huntington Station

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY - A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by two separate cars while walking on East Jericho Turnpike at Totten Avenue late Saturday night.

Police responded to Totten Avenue and East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, New York at around 8:45PM after a pedestrian was struck by two separate vehicles while walking on Jericho Turnpike.

Investigators say that the victim was walking in the westbound lanes of East Jericho Turnpike when he was first struck by a 2009 Honda sedan traveling westbound.

Police say that the victim was then struck by a 2008 Saab SUV also driving westbound.

The victim was identified as James Beck, 57, of Huntington Station. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Both drivers of the vehicles were not injured as a result of the crash.

Police say that both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and that anyone with information on the crash can contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
