4 Teens Shot In Drive-By Shooting At Freeport House Party

FREEPORT, NY - Four teenagers were shot in an apparent drive-by shooting as a house party was ending near Independence Avenue and Utz Street late Saturday night.

Freeport Police officers and Nassau County Police officers responded to Utz Street and Independence Avenue after shots rang out as a large house party was ending at around 11:55PM on Saturday night. Police say the gunman fired into a large crowd of teenagers leaving the party before fleeing the area.

Officers arriving on scene began finding multiple victims shot in different areas of the immediate scene as the victims tried to get away from where the shots were being fired.

Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene by officers. Police say that a vehicle traveling southbound on Babylon Turnpike near Independence Avenue started shooting and took off shortly after. There has been no description of any vehicles or suspects released by Nassau County Police at the time of this article being published.

Officials say that three teenage boys, 14, 16, and 16 have been transported to the hospital for treatment. A 16-year-old girl was also transported to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of the injuries to the victims.
