4 Hurt, 1 Airlifted After Rollover Crash On Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway

BETHPAGE, NY - At least four people were injured in a rollover crash involving two vehicles on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway southbound near Exit 10 late Sunday afternoon.

The Bethpage Fire Department and Nassau County Police Department were called for a crash involving two vehicles with one SUV that rolled onto its roof at around 2:14PM on Sunday afternoon. The collision occurred southbound on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway, just south of Exit 10.

Police officers and firefighters arrived on scene and confirmed that there was nobody trapped inside either of the vehicles.

The Plainview Fire Department and Syosset Fire Department also responded to the scene of the crash.

A total of at least four people were transported to local area hospitals following the crash. One of the victims was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a Nassau County Police Department helicopter that landed directly on the highway.

It is currently unclear what the extent or severity of the injuries are at this time.

Nassau County Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit uprighted the SUV and moved both vehicles involved to the shoulder. Traffic was able to flow shortly after.

All southbound lanes of traffic were reopened at around 2:55PM.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown at this time.
