22-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By LIRR Train In Hicksville

HICKSVILLE, NY - A 22-year-old man was fatally struck by a Long Island Railroad train near the Hicksville Station late Friday night.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials released that a 22-year-old man was struck and killed near the Hicksville station at around 11:00PM on Friday night.

MTA says that the man was struck and killed inside an area where pedestrians are not authorized.

At the time, there were no passengers on the train due to it being an equipment train. According to officials, service was suspended between Mineola and Hicksville stations while the scene was being investigated.

Service has since been fully restored.

MTA Police Department officials are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to this fatality.
