3 Killed In Violent Fatal Crash On Nicolls Road
HOLTSVILLE, NY - Three people were killed in a violent fatal crash after a sedan left the roadway and reportedly rolled over, ejecting at least one passenger northbound on Nicolls Road near Division Street.
Suffolk County Police responded to the serious crash at 9:43PM after a 2009 Infinity G37 that was traveling northbound on Nicolls Road lost control and left the roadway in the area of the Division Street overpass. According to witnesses, the vehicle allegedly rolled over and ejected at least one passenger before crashing into the wooded area after traveling at a high rate of speed.
Police say that the vehicle was being operated by Cem Gunes, 16, of Holtsville at the time of the crash. The vehicle was also occupied by two passengers, Taylor Beltramini, 17, of Moriches, and a male passenger who was identified as Landon Kromhout Auditore, 18, of Mastic.
All three occupants of the Infinity were pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, according to officials. The investigation is still ongoing at this time. Detectives are asking that anyone with information on this crash call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
While police have not confirmed the cause of the triple fatal crash yet, it is believed speeding was a factor.
