3 Hurt In Northern State Parkway Crash Involving Overturned Mercedes
WESTBURY, NY - Three people were hospitalized, one seriously, after a crash resulted in a car overturning onto its roof, snarling traffic on the Northern State Parkway in the eastbound lanes early Friday afternoon.
New York State Police, alongside the Nassau County Police Department and Carle Place Fire Department, responded to the Northern State Parkway between Exit 31 and 32 in the eastbound lanes for the serious crash at around 1:30PM.
First responders arrived on scene and confirmed that there were two vehicles involved, including a white 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2004 Mercedes-Benz.
According to State Police, both vehicles involved in the crash were traveling eastbound on the Northern State Parkway when the Mercedes-Benz struck the Nissan SUV. The crash caused the Mercedes-Benz to overturn and roll onto its roof in the middle of the lanes of traffic.
Officials say that the driver of the Mercedes was transported to a local area hospital in a serious condition. The two occupants of the Nissan were also transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
