Warehouse, Trucks Heavily Damaged In Overnight Fire

A 2-Alarm fire broke out inside a Lawrence, New York warehouse containing multiple trucks early Saturday morning.

Multiple fire departments responded to Burnside Avenue and Garden Lane in Lawrence, New York for a large warehouse on fire. Almost immediately after firefighters arrived on the scene, a second alarm was transmitted and more crews were called to assist with the raging fire.

The warehouse was almost completely destroyed by the fire. Inside, four trucks owned by a local business caught fire and melted from the intense heat and flames.

David Hance, the owner of the business, stated to the Long Island Herald that, “it was like an army”, referring to the large number of firefighters that were working at the scene. A total of five fire departments responded and were able to bring the fire under control.

The Nassau County Arson Squad is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire. Hance states that with the security cameras inside the business, he’s optimistic that the cause of the fire could be determined.
