Suspect On The Run After Brazen Mineola Bank Robbery

MINEOLA, NY - A brazen Citibank robbery on Old Country Road in Mineola left the bank a crime scene during business hours Saturday afternoon, just a block away from a police headquarters.

Nassau County Police responded to the Citibank at 250 Old Country Rd, Mineola, NY after a robbery was reported. At 11:57AM, an unknown male suspect entered the bank and approached one of the tellers. The man then passed a note demanding money. The teller complied to avoid any escalation of the incident and the suspect fled the scene with an unknown amount of money.

According to investigators, there were six employees and one customer inside the bank while the robbery occurred. No injuries were reported.

Police describe the suspect as male white, 6’0” tall, between 40-50 years old, with an average build and salt and pepper hair. The suspect was wearing a black jacket over a black sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
