Raging Fire Rips Through Structures in East Farmingdale; One Firefighter Injured

EAST FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Firefighters battled a fierce early-morning blaze that tore through a garage, shed, and metal storage container along Route 110 on Thursday.

The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m., just north of the Southern State Parkway, prompting multiple 911 calls reporting the flames and heavy smoke. First responders from several nearby fire departments rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews were met with a raging inferno that had already engulfed a shed, a metal container, and a detached two-car garage. Firefighters quickly went to work, stretching multiple hose lines as flames lit up the night sky.

The fire was eventually brought under control by fire crews.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital after sustaining injuries while battling the blaze.

The cause of the destructive fire remains under investigation by officials.
