Pedestrian Fatally Hit By Car in Lindenhurst

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Saturday night in Lindenhurst, New York.

Multiple emergency service agencies raced to the intersection of Wellwood Avenue and Hartford Street in Lindenhurst, New York after a 911 call was placed about a pedestrian being seriously struck by a vehicle.

As emergency services arrived on the scene, they determined that the injuries of the pedestrian were life-threatening. A request to Suffolk County Police aviation to airlift the patient was requested, but shortly cancelled after the condition of the pedestrian worsened.

The pedestrian was confirmed to be deceased at the scene of the collision after Lindenhurst Fire Department EMTs attempted to resuscitate the victim.

The Suffolk County Police Department established a crime scene on Wellwood Avenue. It is currently unknown if any criminality is involved in this incident.
