Icy Roads To Blame For Truck Slamming Into Tree In Huntington Station
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY - Suffolk County Police say icy road conditions were responsible for the single-car crash into a tree on W 11th Street near Railroad Street in Huntington Station, New York early Sunday night. The driver was transported to a local area hospital with serious injuries.
At around 9:00PM on Sunday night, emergency crews responded to W 11th Street after reports of a single-car collision involving a pickup truck crashing into a tree. Police say that the pickup truck hit a patch of ice while traveling eastbound on W 11th Street, left the road, and slammed into a tree. The victim, a 40-year old Huntington Station man, was trapped in his 1993 Ford F-250 pickup truck and had to be cut out of it by the fire department.
The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital in a serious condition as a result of the crash.
The pickup truck was impounded for a safety check.
