Garage Destroyed In Early Morning North Lindenhurst Fire
NORTH LINDENHURST, NY - A detached garage was destroyed after a large blaze ignited inside early Thursday morning on North Delaware Avenue.
At 6:17AM, firefighters from the North Lindenhurst Fire Department responded to a home on North Delaware Avenue, just south of Sunrise Highway for a report of smoke coming from a house.
Firefighters arrived on scene to a working fire in a detached garage in the backyard of the house. Due to the close proximity to the house, crews checked to ensure that the fire did not spread into the home. Firefighters also used proactive measures to prevent the spread of the fire to a neighboring home as a precaution.
An explosion believed to be from a small propane tank inside the garage was heard at the scene while firefighters were battling the blaze.
The Lindenhurst, West Babylon, and East Farmingdale Fire Departments responded to assist with fighting the fire.
The fire was knocked down and placed under control in approximately 30 minutes.
There were no reported injuries as a result of this fire.
