Duo Arrested After Robbing North Babylon Bank

NORTH BABYLON, NY - Two men were arrested by police after they robbed the Roslyn Savings Bank on Deer Park Avenue early Saturday afternoon.

According to Suffolk County Police, two men entered the Roslyn Savings Bank at 1501 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon at around 12:55PM on Saturday afternoon. Police say that’s when one of the men displayed a handgun to the teller and demanded cash.

Investigators say that the teller complied and both fled the scene in a vehicle.

An investigation led police officers to arrest both men outside a Wyandanch residence at approximately 2:05PM.

Police identified the robbers as Joseph Mann, 50, of Shirley and Marlon Johnson, 44, of Wyandanch. Both men were arrested and charged with 1st Degree Robbery.

Mann and Johnson were arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.

Suffolk County Police detectives are asking that anybody with information regarding the robbery call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.
