Car Overturns on Roof, Slides Down Ditch on Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway

A BMW overturned on its roof and slid down an embankment while traveling north on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in Plainview, New York on Tuesday afternoon.

A large presence of emergency services were seen on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway just after 12PM on Tuesday afternoon after a BMW crashed in the northbound lanes, just south of the Old Country Road exit in Plainview, New York.

Fire departments and Nassau County Police heavy rescue crews responded after there were reports of one person trapped in the vehicle, which was found on its roof and down an embankment between Route 135 and Gerhard Road in Plainview.

The trapped person was freed and transported to a local area hospital to be further evaluated. A private tow company responded and pulled the vehicle onto Gerhard Road to upright it and take it from the scene.

There is currently no word on the cause of the crash or the extent of the injuries sustained by the victim.
