Arson Suspected After 3 Cars Go Up In Flames In Amityville
AMITYVILLE, NY - Firefighters battled three car fires at a house on Maple Drive early Sunday morning as flames spread to a nearby fence. The scene was later turned over to arson investigators.
At around 5:10AM on Sunday, firefighters were called near the intersection of Maple Drive and Broadway in Amityville after multiple vehicles went up in flames.
Two vehicles were fully involved in flames and one vehicle was well-involved with flames when first responders arrived. The fire extended to a nearby fence dividing the residential properties. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control shortly after arriving on scene.
The Amityville Fire Department requested mutual aid assistance from the North Amityville Fire Company to fight the fire.
There were no injuries reported in this fire.
The scene was turned over into the hands of Town of Babylon Fire Marshals and Suffolk County Police Arson investigators to conduct an investigation into the suspicious nature of the fire.
