2 Killed, 1 Critical After Sedan Flips in New Hyde Park
A fatal crash left two people ejected from the car and dead while a third victim is in critical condition after a sedan overturned in New Hyde Park early Sunday morning.
A Northwell Health EMS ambulance was first at the scene of this serious crash after being flagged down by a passerby. The crash, which occurred just before 7AM on Sunday morning, took place near the intersection of New Hyde Park Road and Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park, New York.
Two women were ejected from the 2009 Toyota Corolla after it overturned against a pole, according to sources on the scene.
A 39-year old woman and a 71-year old woman were pronounced dead at the scene.
The third victim, a 41-year old man, had to be cut out of the car by firefighters and heavy rescue teams, and is currently in a critical condition at a local area hospital.
Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
