2 Hurt After Trailer Flips Car on Long Island Expressway
The Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol responded to the westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway late Thursday afternoon for a collision that sent two to the hospital in Melville, New York.
Just before 2:30pm on Thursday, sedan that was towing a recreational vehicle trailer headed westbound lost control and overturned, crushing the roof of the car. Both occupants of the vehicle managed to escape without being trapped. The crash caused delays in the westbound lanes, just west of Bagatelle Road.
Both occupants of the sedan were transported to a local area hospital in an unknown condition to be treated for injuries sustained from the collision.
The Long Island Expressway has resumed to normal traffic and has been cleared.
