13-Year Old Fights Off Car Service Driver After Rape Attempt

FREEPORT, NY - A 30-year old car service driver was arrested by police after attempting to rape a 13-year old and forcing himself on her after she entered his car on February 9th.

Police say the 13-year old victim contacted the local car service to drive her home on February 9th. The driver, a 30-year old man identified as Eudy MejiaMejia, of Freeport, picked the victim up in his black 2012 Toyota Highlander.

Before arriving at the victim’s home, MejiaMejia leaned back and asked the victim, who was in the back seat, to kiss him. She then attempted to exit the vehicle, but MejiaMejia sped up to prevent her from exiting, according to detectives.

After parking his vehicle, he is accused of climbing on top of the victim and forcing himself on her. The teen was able to grab a plastic bottle from the center console of the car and hit the attacker. She was able to escape the car and run home to contact 911.

The car service driver was arrested shortly after by police.

MejiaMejia is charged with first-degree attempted rape, first-degree sexual abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child.
